- There is a wealth of information to suggest the world is rapidly running out of oil, whilst oil consumption is increasing.

- Combining the two specialist and proven production processes of Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) clean coal technology and Coal To Liquids (CTL) on a commercial scale is a groundbreaking world first.
- Linc Energy's Chinchilla Gasification site is by far the most successful UCG facility in the western world and has been proven capable of producing syngas in commercial quantities.
- The projected production target of the combined UCG clean coal technology and CTL processes from the Chinchilla site is 20,000 barrels of diesel fuel per day.
- The diesel fuel end product is sulphur-free. It is simply cleaner diesel.
- The UCG process means lower capital and operating costs than traditional mining. It results in very cheap gas, and the feedstock (coal) comes at virtually no cost, as it doesn't need to be dug up.
- To be commercially viable, the CTL process needs ready access to commercial quantities of feedstock gas supply. Linc's UCG process provides a unique way of producing this feedstock gas - far cheaper than the current source of feedstock used by CTL, namely Natural Gas.
- Linc has existing tenement rights to extensive deposits of underground coal capable of providing a vast supply of syngas. This, in effect, means Linc has access to a vast reserve of liquid fuels.
- The Chinchilla Project, which is only one of Linc's 14 coal tenements, has an estimated indicated coal resource of 300 million tonnes in the area immediately surrounding the UCG gasification field. The exploration programme planned for the early stages of the project is expected, based on exploration results in the immediate vicinity, to greatly expand this coal resource.
