Chief Operating Officer
Towards the end of 2008, Kobus joined Linc Energy as General Manager – GTL and in April 2010 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer. Kobus has more than 20 years experience in GTL project management, operations and technology management. With a Masters degree in chemical engineering, specialising in Fischer-Tropsch slurry technology, Kobus started his career in basic R&D with Sasol.
Kobus has had a successful career. As Vice-President and Executive Director of Glencore in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kobus turned around and managed a refining, storage and logistics business. For Mossgas in South Africa he played a key role in the establishment of, their commercial GTL facility. As General Manager of corporate strategy and new ventures, Kobus was also involved in the formation of South Africa’s PetroSA.
Kobus has an active interest in business optimisation and enhancement. He has furthered his expertise through executive management studies at Stanford University and a Masters degree in financial economics at the University of London.
